Necropsy stations, sinks and water control

Choose a veterinary necropsy table for the procedure.

Compare center-sink, left-hand and right-hand station layouts, then review the exact model and its reference documents. Specify usable specimen dimensions, operator access, drainage and transfer requirements; load capacity and ventilation must be confirmed for the selected configuration.

A veterinary post-mortem table needs a documented procedure-specific scope. An examination table is a separate clinical model, not a substitute for an approved necropsy configuration.

Coordinate a countertop water-control assembly with the animal-science sink, rinse outlet and utility schedule. Specify filler-spout handedness before ordering; this is not a freestanding sink.

Veterinary necropsy configuration

  • Tall filler spout: accommodates a compatible filler equipment tank under the faucet and swivels out of the way when not in use. The master mixing valves set the water temperature supplied to the filler.
  • Table-rinse outlet: serrated connection for the included rinse hose, with controlled water flow for rinsing the necropsy table.
  • Backflow protection: a vacuum breaker protects the rinse connection and the hydro-aspirator water supply.
  • Master mixing valves: lever-operated adjustment for the table rinse and tall filler spout.
  • Hydro-aspirator assembly: dedicated water-control valve, built-in vacuum breaker and clear-sight drain with an air gap separating aspirated waste from the aspirator assembly.
  • In the box: the pre-plumbed unit with installed aspirator, faucet valves, goose-neck faucet and braided supply lines; the mixing water OUT 2 faucet (tall filler); a water wand; and two 10′ lengths of clear tubing.
  • Preassembled, pre-plumbed construction on a heavy-gauge stainless steel base plate for installation into a countertop cutout.
  • Countertop depth: catalog installation accommodates counters as shallow as 18 inches. The approved project drawing determines the cutout, service clearance and connections.
  • LW480 hydro-aspirator: chrome-plated brass assembly with built-in vacuum breaker and reversible-flow control. Confirm the current included assembly before requesting a replacement.
  • LW481 extension: chrome-plated brass hydro-aspirator extension; compatibility must be confirmed.
  • LW482 non-clogging aspirator head: helps keep large debris from entering the aspiration system.
  • AHT aspirator / trocar tubing: catalog dimensions 3/8-inch inside diameter and 5/8-inch outside diameter, referenced in 10-foot sections.
  • AHS splash / drain tubing: catalog dimensions 1-inch inside diameter and 1-1/4-inch outside diameter. Specify the application and requested length rather than substituting it for aspirator tubing.
  • Handedness follows the tall filler-spout position, not the hot/cold inlet side. Counter fasteners and sealant are not included.

Examination and treatment models are listed separately below. They are not automatically substitutes for a veterinary necropsy station.

Clinical examination and treatment tables are separate models from an approved necropsy configuration. For a compact dissecting sink or a larger custom animal station, send the proposed procedure and room requirements.

Necropsy room equipment, organized around the work

A veterinary exam room, an animal necropsy room and a pet aftercare facility need different equipment schedules. Start with the procedure, specimen dimensions and route through the building, then compare the relevant tables, sinks, storage and handling equipment. A product name alone does not establish capacity, utility requirements or suitability for a particular species.

Animal necropsy workstation layout

Plan the work surface, operator access, basin arrangement, drainage and instrument space for veterinary post-mortem examination. For small-animal necropsy, include the specimen envelope and handling method; for larger animals, request a project-specific equipment review rather than scaling up a small table by assumption.

Compare necropsy station models

Veterinary examination and treatment

Compare wall-mount, freestanding, knee-space and sink-equipped table layouts for the intended clinical task. Examination equipment is not automatically a necropsy station. Review the selected model's support requirements and configuration before specifying it for a different procedure.

Review veterinary table models

Sink, instrument and specimen areas

Identify where rinsing, instrument staging and specimen preparation will occur. Put water supply, drainage, electrical connections, storage and any requested ventilation review into the room schedule instead of assuming that every fitting is included with the table.

Plan veterinary laboratory casework

Animal storage and transfer

Review the path between receiving, the examination area and the selected storage system. Include doorway clearances, tray support, transfer heights and handling equipment. A shared product category does not establish compatibility between a lift, tray, rack and cooler.

Use the animal aftercare cooler guide

Build a room specification, not just a table list

A useful veterinary pathology equipment request explains how the room will be used and what the equipment must connect to. Send the floor plan or available dimensions, the expected specimen range, the number of work positions and the equipment already in service. Identify any requirement that still needs a facilities, safety or engineering decision.

Working envelope and access

Record usable floor space, wall clearance, doorway width, working height and the approach for staff and transfer equipment. Distinguish the table's usable surface from its overall footprint and protruding fixtures. Include access for cleaning and service.

Water, drainage and ventilation

List available services and the facility contacts responsible for confirming connections. A spray hose, basin or downdraft description does not establish room-level safety performance. Request the selected configuration's requirements and have the responsible facility team review them.

Materials and cleaning

State the proposed cleaning process and any chemical or finish restrictions. Request documentation for the actual supplied materials, joints and accessories. Do not assume that every stainless component has the same grade or that one cleaning agent suits every finish.

Options and existing equipment

Separate the base item from requested hoses, lighting, shelves, instrument supports, trays, storage and other accessories. Include the model numbers of equipment that must interface with the proposed station. Requested options remain subject to configuration review.

Different facilities, clearly defined requirements

Veterinary hospitals can begin with examination and treatment layouts. Diagnostic laboratories and veterinary pathology departments can organize necropsy and specimen work around their procedures and room services. University anatomy and teaching facilities can include instructor access, student positions and specimen handling in the request. Shelters and animal-care organizations can keep examination, storage and aftercare requirements distinct.

Large-animal, equine, wildlife and research applications need their own dimensions and handling review. Those terms describe a planning scope, not a claim that every listed model is suitable for those applications. Send the actual use case before selecting a model or assuming a capacity.

One animal-equipment schedule for quote and PO review

Choose the exact product model and configuration, set the quantity, then record requested options separately. For a multi-room project, identify which items belong to each work area and which existing components need to remain. USPE equipment follows the specification-quote path; submitting a request does not place an order or confirm engineering approval.

  • Equipment: Product name, model or SKU, quantity and selected configuration.
  • Requested changes: Dimensions, accessory choices, service connections and interfaces needing review.
  • Site: Facility type, delivery ZIP code, access constraints and room information.
  • Documents: The required drawings, material information, operating instructions and procurement paperwork.

Review the written scope, included components, installation responsibilities, freight and applicable product-specific warranty terms before accepting the quote. A reference image is not a fabrication drawing, and a proposed CAD assembly is not a released production specification.

Veterinary necropsy equipment questions

Can an examination table be used as a veterinary post-mortem table?

Not by assumption. Review the intended procedure, surface, drainage, access and documented model scope. A clinical examination table requires a separate configuration review before it is specified for necropsy.

What belongs in a necropsy room equipment schedule?

List the selected workstation, sink and water controls, instrument area, casework and any animal storage or transfer equipment. Record model references, quantities, room dimensions and available utilities. Keep requested accessories and ventilation requirements separate from the base equipment scope.

How should small-animal and large-animal requirements be specified?

Include specimen dimensions, expected load, access, transfer method and the room plan. A large-animal application requires its own configuration review rather than an assumed extension of a smaller model.

Does a sink or downdraft description confirm the room utilities?

No. Ask for the selected configuration requirements and have the responsible facilities and safety teams review water, drainage, power and any ventilation connections.

Can I request different accessories or dimensions?

Yes, include requested changes in the RFQ. They remain requests until the written scope confirms what can be supplied and what supporting review is required.

Are trays, lifts and storage racks automatically compatible?

No. Width labels and a shared category do not establish fit. Confirm bearing surfaces, retention, transfer heights, clearances and the approved equipment combination.

How do I prepare a veterinary equipment RFQ?

Provide the exact model or required function, quantity, requested options, facility use, delivery ZIP code and available room information. Identify the drawings and procurement documents you require.

Are drawings on the site released manufacturing drawings?

Only a specifically released drawing with the appropriate revision and approval should be used for manufacturing or installation. Reference photos and review CAD do not establish engineering approval.
