Every walk-in mortuary cooler in this catalog ships as a complete knocked-down package — all panels, hardware, door, and refrigeration components included and ready for professional on-site installation. Standard configuration is a two-piece remote split refrigeration system rated for 80°F ambient temperature. A self-contained top-mount upgrade is available on most sizes for facilities that cannot accommodate a remote condensing unit. Both options require 208-230V electrical service and professional installation — neither is included in the purchase price.
Sizes run from the compact 8×8 through the high-capacity 10×20. All models carry NSF-certified cam-lock panels, 10-year panel warranty, and full DOE, UL, EPA, ASTM E84, and UL723 compliance. Standard configurations ship within 48 hours.

⚠️ Read Before Selecting a Size — Refrigeration System Requirements
Standard: Two-Piece Remote Split Refrigeration — 80°F Ambient Rated
Every walk-in in this catalog ships standard with a professional two-piece remote split refrigeration system. The outdoor condensing unit mounts remotely — exterior wall, rooftop, or mechanical space — away from the storage room. The evaporator unit mounts inside the cooler. A certified refrigeration technician must run refrigerant line sets between the two components and complete all mechanical connections before the system is operational.
-
Ambient rating: Standard compressor and evaporator rated for up to 80°F ambient room temperature
-
Best for: Climate-controlled facilities — funeral home prep areas, hospital morgues, conditioned utility rooms
-
Benefit: Moves heat and compressor noise out of the workspace — quieter, cooler prep room environment
-
Installation: Certified refrigeration technician required — not included in price
-
Electrical: 208-230V/60Hz/1Ph — licensed electrician required
⚠️ Hot Climate and Unconditioned Space Warning
The standard 80°F ambient remote system is not recommended for unconditioned spaces, garages, outdoor enclosures, or facilities in hot-climate regions where ambient temperatures regularly exceed 80°F. This includes Gulf Coast states, Southwest desert regions, Florida, Texas Gulf, and similar climates where summer ambient conditions can exceed the standard system's THI rating. Operating a standard compressor above its rated ambient voids mechanical warranty coverage and results in premature compressor failure.
Facilities in these environments require a high-ambient compressor upgrade — confirm your climate and installation conditions with our team before selecting a refrigeration configuration. Call 1-888-792-9315 before ordering.
Optional Upgrade: Self-Contained Top-Mount Unit
For facilities that cannot accommodate a remote condensing unit location, or where expedited setup with simplified refrigerant piping is the priority, a self-contained top-mount refrigeration upgrade is available on most sizes. The all-in-one package unit mounts through a panel opening in the cooler ceiling — no external condensing unit, no line sets to route through walls or ceilings.
-
Best for: Facilities with no exterior wall access or mechanical space for remote condensing unit, or where installation timeline is the priority
-
Important: 208-230V electrical service is still required — this option does not simplify the electrical requirement
-
Also important: Self-contained units exhaust heat into the room above the cooler. In warm or unconditioned spaces this can create a feedback loop — the same hot climate limitation applies. Not recommended for hot climates or unconditioned spaces without a high-ambient unit.
-
Availability: Available on most standard sizes — confirm at time of order
-
Installation: Licensed electrician required for 208-230V connection — not included in price

Walk-In vs. Upright — Which Configuration Is Right
An upright mortuary cooler is an appliance — plug into a standard outlet on most models, no contractors, no construction. A walk-in is a facility installation requiring professional refrigeration and electrical trades plus on-site panel assembly. The walk-in delivers what no upright can: staff entry, direct roll-in cot access, and the highest storage density per square foot available in a body cooler format.
If your need is 3-body cot-compatible access without construction scope, the TR3 Triple-Wide Roll-In Mortuary Cooler is the crossover option — self-contained upright with walk-in-style cot access, no 208-230V requirement, no line sets. For everything else that requires walk-in scale, this catalog is the right place. Use the Cooler Capacity Calculator to confirm your size before ordering.
