How many coveralls are in a case?

Bound seam: 12 per case. Taped seam: 6 per case. One size per case.

Serged, bound or taped seams?

Serged seams are fine for light splash and dusts. Bound seams add strength and improve the barrier at the seam. Taped seams seal the stitching for heavy liquid splash, which is the best choice for prep-room spill cleanup, decontamination and infectious-disease cases.

Is Tychem® 4000 good for bloodborne pathogens?

Yes. Tychem® 4000 fabric passes ASTM F1670 (synthetic blood) and ASTM F1671 (viral penetration), the test methods used to show protection against bloodborne pathogen exposure. For full barrier at the seams under heavy fluid exposure, choose bound or taped seams and pair with gloves, boots and a face shield.

Can it be used for COVID-19 and infectious-disease cases?

DuPont notes Tychem 2000 and 4000 garments can help reduce the risk of cross-contamination in pandemic preparedness activities when used with appropriate masks, gloves and eye protection. CDC guidance for funeral home workers calls for Standard Precautions plus a disposable gown, face shield or goggles and an N95 respirator when splashing is expected.

Is it flame resistant?

No. Standard Tychem garments are not flame resistant and should not be worn near open flame, sparks or intense heat. For flash-fire risk, see DuPont Tychem 2000 SFR worn over primary FR clothing.

How do I check a specific chemical?

Look up the chemical in the manufacturer's permeation data (ASTM F739 normalized breakthrough times) before use, and call 1-888-792-9315 if you need help reading the results.
