COMPLIANCE LIBRARY • DOCUMENT CO-1.0
Effective May 1, 2026 • Custom walk-ins, non-standard dimensions, special configurations & modified builds.
"Custom" or "built-to-order" equipment includes any unit manufactured to non-catalog dimensions, capacities, or configurations; custom walk-in cooler and freezer systems; special panel layouts, door placements, or finishes; modified racking, rail, or shelving arrangements; and any product built or altered to buyer-supplied specifications. AMC manufactures custom-dimension systems for facilities with non-standard floor plans — this policy governs every such build.
Every custom order requires the buyer's written approval of the final specification (drawings, dimensions, capacities, electrical, door swing, and configuration) before production begins. The signed specification is the controlling document. The buyer is solely responsible for verifying that approved dimensions fit the facility — doorways, placement path, ceiling height, floor conditions, power, and drainage — per the Facility Readiness Checklist. Errors in buyer-approved specifications are the buyer's responsibility.
Custom orders require the deposit stated on the quote or invoice and enter production only after deposit and signed specification are received. Once production begins, custom and built-to-order equipment is non-cancelable and non-refundable, and — like all refrigeration products — is 100% non-returnable per our Returns & Cancellations Policy and TP-1.0. Change orders after specification approval are accepted solely at AMC's discretion, may adjust price and lead time, and require a new signed specification. Deposits on canceled pre-production custom orders may be applied against engineering, drawing, and material commitments already incurred.
Custom lead times are estimates — see Lead Times and Force Majeure (FM-1.0). Freight, inspection-before-signing, and delivery terms follow Shipping & Freight Disclosures and Freight Damage & Refusal. Storage of completed units the buyer cannot receive is governed by ST-1.0. Warranty coverage follows WR-1.0 — all warranties are parts only, no labor, unless otherwise specified in writing; any labor services are provided exclusively at AMC's discretion — with quarterly maintenance and dated, signed logs as claim conditions per the Maintenance Center. Colors, materials, and continuous-improvement variances follow our Product Colors & Materials Policy.

Walk-in cooler panels and upright cooler cabinet skins are constructed of Class 1 polyurethane foam insulation, injected under pressure into formed molds during manufacturing. Residual foam flash, minor surface variation, or trace foam residue on panel edges and surfaces is a normal characteristic of this manufacturing process — not a defect. Foam residue does not merit discounting, return, refund, or credit of any kind.
You have up to 30 minutes from carrier arrival to thoroughly inspect every panel, crate, unit, and box before signing any delivery receipt or Bill of Lading. Check all surfaces, edges, corners, and refrigeration components while the driver is present. This is your only opportunity to document concerns with the carrier present. Acceptance at delivery is the single most critical step in the delivery process.
By signing the delivery receipt or Bill of Lading — or by accepting delivery in any form — you: (1) accept the shipment in the condition noted on the signed paperwork; (2) release the carrier and American Mortuary Coolers from all liability for any condition, damage, or deficiency that could have been identified during your inspection window; and (3) enter into a binding agreement that goods were received as stated on the signed documentation. Your signature on any shipping paperwork constitutes acceptance of these terms. There are no exceptions once paperwork is signed.
