American Mortuary Coolers

Mortuary Cooler Casters, Lift & Rack Mobility Guide

Compare caster ratings, brakes, wheel materials and mounting interfaces on the actual cooler, rack or lift. A wheel’s appearance or diameter alone does not establish a compatible replacement.

Define the mobility task

Identify whether the equipment is moved only for cleaning and servicing or is intended for loaded transport. Follow the manufacturer’s permitted movement and braking instructions; adding casters does not turn a stationary cabinet into a transport device.

Information needed for a replacement review

  • Equipment model, serial reference and supported load.
  • Mounting plate or stem dimensions, bolt pattern and attachment method.
  • Wheel diameter, tread material, brake arrangement and overall mounting height.
  • Floor surfaces, thresholds, doors and any slope along the route.

Changing wheel height may change the working and transfer heights. Do not drill, weld or substitute wheel assemblies without a model-specific review. Compare native racks and lifts.

Confirm the equipment schedule

Provide model numbers, quantities, dimensions, transfer requirements, room utilities and the delivery location. Identify accessories, freight and installation responsibilities separately. Approval, compatibility and country-of-origin requirements must be reviewed for the selected items.
