Prep Room Cabinet Options: Materials, Colors, Glass, Locks & Hardware
Every AME + USPE prep room cabinet can be requested in stainless steel or powder-coated steel, in any of 49 colors, with your choice of hinges, pulls, door glazing, locks, shelving and mobility. This page lists the options exactly as they appear on the quote form so your embalming room casework arrives the way it was drawn.
Material and finish
Stainless steel (standard)
Stainless construction in the standard stainless finish. The default for wet walls, sink cabinets, instrument storage and any cabinet that is washed down daily.
18-gauge powder-coated steel
Powder-coated steel in Essential, Select or Signature colors, with optional two-tone body and door/drawer-front combinations. A common choice for dressing areas, family-facing care centers and storage runs away from the table.
Colors
49 colors in three tiers. Record the body color and the door or drawer-front color separately when requesting two-tone. Screen colors are reference only; approve the physical sample before ordering. The full set with swatch previews is on the colors page and in the color swatch PDF.
Handles and hinges
Four hinge types and eight pull styles, plus recessed aluminum and black pulls where listed on the model. Reference images and codes are on the hardware page and in the hardware options PDF.

Door glazing, locks and mobility
- Solid, glazed or acrylic doors on wall and tall cabinets, so chemical and instrument storage can be visible or closed.
- Locks for controlled-substance, chemical and evidence storage where the model lists a lock option.
- Casters on mobile cabinets that move between tables, the dressing area and the cooler.
- Flat or sloping tops on tall and wall cabinets to prevent storage on top and simplify cleaning.
- Adjustable shelving in most base, wall and tall cabinets.
Closing the run: fillers, scribes, panels and chases
Finished casework needs fillers at walls and corners, scribes where walls are out of plumb, finished back panels on island runs, and service chases for plumbing and electrical behind sink and equipment cabinets.
