TITAN Evacuation Stair Chair Selection Guide

A useful evacuation plan starts with the route, the person being transported and the trained personnel available. Choose a TITAN stair chair by its documented operating configuration rather than by appearance or model number alone.

Choose the operating configuration

Configuration TITAN options What to compare
Powered stair system Sentinel and Endurance Operating rating, chair width, battery details, stair mode and required personnel.
Powered stairs and joystick level travel Navigator Space for level travel and turns, in addition to stair-route requirements.
Manual track system Ranger Manual handling procedure, track configuration and stair geometry.
Folding manual transport Scout, Trail, Rapid and Swift Wheel arrangement, carry handles, documented capacity, folded dimensions and staffing.

Measure the whole route

  • Record doorway widths, stair clearances and landing turns.
  • Compare the exact chair dimensions and folded storage size.
  • Check the operating instructions for tread, riser and staffing requirements.
  • Plan the transfer between the chair and any ambulance stretcher or first-call cot.

Match the storage enclosure

The standalone cabinet is enclosure-only. The Sentinel chair-and-cabinet set explicitly includes both. Do not assume another chair fits without comparing its folded dimensions with the enclosure.

Keep goods handling separate

The TITAN PowerHaul is a stair-climbing hand truck for goods. It is not a patient evacuation chair and must not be used to carry people.

Common questions

Does powered operation remove the need for trained personnel?

No. Follow the operating instructions and required staffing for the exact chair, route and person being transported.

Does a model number establish its load rating?

No. Use the documented capacity on the specific product page and in the operating instructions.

Can every powered stair chair drive on level ground?

No. Joystick-controlled level travel is a Navigator feature, not a universal powered-chair feature.
