Kysor Panel Mortuary Walk-In Replacement Planning

Enclosure, refrigeration and handling

Replacing a Kysor-labeled mortuary walk-in?

Keep the panel-system history separate from your replacement specification. Compare the room footprint, doors, refrigeration and body-storage layout before committing to a new walk-in.

Independent complete-equipment planning. No claim that AMC panels interchange with Kysor panels or that original manufacturer support has ended.

Kysor has a documented successor history

KPS Global’s company history describes the Kysor Panel Systems lineage, Manitowoc’s 2008 acquisition, D Cubed Group’s 2015 purchase of Manitowoc and Hillphoenix walk-in businesses to form KPS Global, and Viessmann’s 2024 acquisition of KPS Global. Use that history to identify the relevant manufacturer channel, not as proof that a particular installed unit is unsupported.

That lineage is not evidence that all Kysor equipment is unsupported or that a complete replacement is necessary. If you need original panels, doors, parts or service, identify the exact model and contact the applicable manufacturer or service channel. This page concerns an independent comparison for a new mortuary walk-in.

Panel dimensions alone do not prove compatibility

A walk-in panel is part of an enclosure system. Record its thickness, joint profile, locking arrangement, corner details, floor interface and door frame. Two panels with similar dimensions can use different connections. We do not claim that current AMC panels, doors or hardware can be inserted into an existing Kysor enclosure.

If you intend to retain any portion of the old room, make that requirement explicit. Obtain a written, model-specific engineering review before combining systems. A complete new enclosure comparison avoids presenting unverified replacement parts as a direct fit.

Measure the space around the walk-in

  • Room footprint: measure the available exterior space and usable interior storage area separately. Include adjacent walls, ceiling constraints and the path for panel delivery.
  • Doors and thresholds: document clear opening, hinge side, swing, ramp space and any change in floor elevation.
  • Refrigeration: identify condenser location, evaporator arrangement, utility services, existing line routing and the operating environment. Existing refrigeration is not assumed compatible.
  • Mortuary use: define the body count, standard or wider trays, rack arrangement, lift access and usable maneuvering space. A nominal enclosure dimension alone does not establish body capacity.

Compare a configured current walk-in

Use the current walk-in builder to select the enclosure and offered options. Our walk-in refrigeration configuration is two-piece remote; the equipment selection and site-specific installation responsibilities must be confirmed for the actual location. Keep panel placement, licensed trade work and commissioning distinct when reviewing the quote.

Send a comparison-ready RFQ

Include the nameplate photograph, model and serial number, overall dimensions, clear door opening, available room plan and delivery route. Identify your department or room, project address, purchasing contact and optional PO or requisition number. Add the desired body count, tray dimensions and loading method. A complete request makes it easier to separate the base equipment, accessories, freight and installation responsibilities.

Open the PO / RFQ builder. Describe the existing unit in the project notes and ask for a written specification comparison before approving an order. Do not assume an existing refrigeration circuit, floor, electrical service or handling accessory can be reused without review.

Keep the project record useful for future service

Retain the approved layout, selected model, component labels, refrigeration data and final accessory list. Link those records to the purchasing reference and facility room. Start with the current mortuary cooler range and rack and lift options to plan the complete storage workflow.

No direct-fit or interchangeability claim is made.
