TITAN EMS & Medical Transport Stretcher Selection Guide

Choose a TITAN EMS stretcher by vehicle loading height, frame configuration, documented capacity, included locks and transfer requirements.

TITAN EMS & Medical Transport Stretcher Selection Guide

Choose a medical transport stretcher around the vehicle, transfer route and operating procedure. An ambulance-loading cot, a convertible chair stretcher and a hydraulic facility trolley solve different handling requirements.

Start with the transport role

  • Vehicle-loading stretchers: compare the stated loading height, frame configuration and locking equipment in the TITAN EMS collection.
  • Convertible chair stretchers: the XL650E and Versant provide documented chair configurations; do not assume other models convert.
  • Facility transport: the LHT hydraulic trolley is presented for clinical transfer, not as a substitute for a verified ambulance-loading cot.
  • Powered first-call transport: the P550 offers push-button elevation and trackless loading. Its model name is not a load rating.

Compare loading height, not just raised height

Measure the vehicle deck where the stretcher loads. Compare that measurement with the published loading height, then review collapsed dimensions, the operating configuration and the mounting arrangement. The highest working height is not automatically the vehicle-loading height.

Check what is actually included

Use the included-equipment list for the exact model. The Pro 650 Elite locking device is optional; the matching locking-device listing is separate. The detachable antler mount has its own supported-model details and is not presented as universal.

Plan the adjoining transfer

A stair chair handles a different part of the route from a vehicle-loading stretcher. A slider board is for supported sliding transfers only, not for lifting or carrying. Choose a suitable scoop stretcher when that documented handling configuration is required.

Common questions

Is a locking device always included?

No. Check the exact included-equipment list and the supported mounting components before ordering.

Can one person operate every automatic-loading stretcher?

No. Follow the staffing specified for the model. The Vanguard X-frame model specifies two-person operation.

Does a capacity rating mean a cot fits any ambulance?

No. Capacity, deck height, dimensions and the locking arrangement are separate requirements.
