Turnkey Installation Policy
DOCUMENT TK-1.0 • EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 20, 2026 • WALK-IN COOLERS & FREEZERS ONLY • BILLED LINE ITEM
Document TK-1.0 • also in the Forms & Documents Library
§1 — WALK-IN COOLERS ONLY
Turnkey installation is offered only on walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers. It is not offered on upright, roll-in, or vault coolers, which ship with packaged self-contained refrigeration; installation of those units is the customer’s responsibility, and courtesy assistance may be available under the Assisted Panel Installation Policy (AP-1.0).
§2 — BILLED LINE ITEM
- Turnkey installation is a fully billed installation consisting of panel installation, mechanical installation, and startup.
- It is included only when it appears as a priced line item on a written quote, sales order, or invoice accepted by the customer. If it is not a line item, it is not included.
- Pricing is quoted per project based on equipment, location, site conditions, and local contractor rates.
§3 — MULTI-PART PROCESS
| Part | Work | Performed by |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Site review & quote | Room dimensions, photos, electrical and drain locations, access, permits | AMC with the customer |
| 2. Panel installation | Setting, aligning, and locking panels, floor (if ordered), and doors | AMC crew or local installer |
| 3. Electrical | Power to the refrigeration system and controls | Local state-licensed electrician |
| 4. Mechanical | Refrigeration system mounting, line sets, connections, evacuation, and charge (remote systems) | Local state-licensed mechanical / refrigeration installer, EPA 608 certified |
| 5. Startup & sign-off | Startup, set points, pull-down, holding-temperature check, signed sign-off | Mechanical installer, coordinated by AMC |
Each part is scheduled in sequence. A later part does not begin until the earlier part is complete and the site is ready.
§4 — LOCAL CONTRACTORS
- Most parts are performed by local contractors at the job location. Electrical and mechanical work is performed only by contractors holding the licenses required by the state and locality.
- Local contractors are independent contractors. Each is responsible for its own licensing, permits it pulls, code compliance, and workmanship. Contractor workmanship warranties are passed through to the customer as issued by the contractor.
- AMC coordinates scheduling and bills the line item. AMC does not warrant contractor workmanship beyond the warranty passed through.
§5 — CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Site readiness on each scheduled date: level slab or floor, clear access, required clearances, and working space.
- Electrical service capacity at the panel and a drain or condensate destination, unless the line item expressly includes them.
- Permits and inspections, unless the line item expressly includes them.
- Room and condenser location conditions within the rating of the system ordered (Ambient Temperature & Refrigeration Sizing Policy (AT-1.0)).
- If the site is not ready, return trips, standby time, and rescheduling are billable.
§6 — ACCEPTANCE & AFTER STARTUP
- The customer or its representative signs the startup sign-off. Installation deficiencies must be reported in writing within 30 calendar days of startup. After that, or once the equipment is placed into service without a reported deficiency, the installation is accepted.
- After startup, changes to settings or programming and annual maintenance of the compressor are the customer’s responsibility.
- Improper compressor or controller settings, programming, or setup made after startup, and any failure or condition arising from them, void all warranty coverage on the refrigeration system and compressor and exclude any resulting damage to the unit or its contents.
- Equipment warranty is as stated in the Warranty Policy (WR-1.0).
- Scope changes require a written change order and may change price and schedule. The line item is payable on the terms stated on the quote or invoice.
§7 — ACCEPTANCE & ORDER OF PRECEDENCE
- This policy is incorporated into the Terms of Purchase, Return & Chargeback Policy (TC-1.7) and the Warranty Policy (WR-1.0). Placing an order, submitting payment, signing for delivery, or accepting any service is acceptance of this policy.
- If this policy conflicts with a product page, quote note, email, or verbal statement, this policy controls. Only a written agreement signed by an authorized officer of American Mortuary Coolers can change it, and only for that order.
- No employee, dealer, driver, technician, or contractor may waive or change these terms verbally.
§8 — CHARGEBACKS & PAYMENT DISPUTES
- A warranty claim, service issue, installation question, or disagreement with a determination under this policy is not a billing error, unauthorized charge, or non-delivery, and is not grounds for a chargeback or payment dispute.
- Before contacting any card issuer, bank, or payment provider, the customer must submit the issue in writing to resolutions@mymortuarycooler.com and allow 30 days for formal review, as required by the Terms of Purchase, Return & Chargeback Policy (TC-1.7).
- The order confirmation, checkout acceptance of posted policies, signed delivery receipt, and the customer’s communications are evidence of authorization, delivery, and acceptance. The customer authorizes AMC to submit them, with this policy, in response to any dispute.
- All warranty, reimbursement, and service obligations are suspended while a chargeback or payment dispute is open. A chargeback filed without completing formal review forfeits any pending reimbursement or courtesy for that order.
- If a chargeback is reversed in AMC’s favor or found to be without merit, the customer owes the disputed amount plus chargeback fees, collection costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees.
§9 — LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & INDEMNITY
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, AMC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages, including loss of use, downtime, loss of remains-storage capacity, spoilage, business interruption, lost revenue, or rental or substitute equipment, under any legal theory.
- AMC’s total liability for any claim is limited to the amount actually paid for the product or service at issue.
- The customer shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AMC and its brands, owners, officers, employees, and agents from claims arising from the customer’s site, personnel, contractors, room conditions, electrical or drain work, programming, operation, or maintenance, as provided in the Indemnification Policy (IN-1.0).
§10 — NOTICE OF CLAIM, GOVERNING LAW & VENUE
- Any claim must be submitted in writing to resolutions@mymortuarycooler.com within 30 days of the event giving rise to it, with the order number, model and serial number, a description of the issue, and the signed startup sign-off, photos, and contractor documentation. Claims without this documentation may be closed without review.
- Phone calls, texts, social media posts, online reviews, and chargeback filings are not formal claims.
- This policy is governed by Tennessee law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Washington County, Tennessee, including the General Sessions Court, and the customer consents to that jurisdiction and venue.
- The prevailing party in any action to enforce this policy recovers reasonable attorneys’ fees, court costs, and collection costs.
§11 — GENERAL TERMS
- No waiver: a delay in enforcing any term, or a courtesy given once, does not waive that term.
- Severability: an unenforceable provision is enforced to the maximum extent allowed, and the rest remains in effect.
- Survival: warranty conditions, limitations, indemnity, chargeback, and dispute terms survive completion, cancellation, or refusal of the order, per Survival of Terms (SV-1.0).
- State consumer protection rights that cannot be waived by contract are not affected.
