The 3-Body Vertical Vault Morgue Cooler gives facilities a 3-body vault-format option for refrigerated body storage. Its vertical designation makes access to the selected storage levels a central part of the equipment review.
For three-body vault storage, draw a retrieval path for each of the three positions. Compare that access pattern with a three-body upright or triple-wide roll-in before matching the cabinet to an existing prep-room workflow.

The 3 Bay Vertical Vault-Style Morgue Cooler (Model 1070-3BVU) is the vertical individual-access mortuary cabinet in the AMC 1070 series, 3 stacked chambers with door-hinge selectability. Why vertical stacking
At 3-body capacity the horizontal 3-Door Vault occupies more floor area than the vertical 3 Bay. Vertical configuration is the right call when the prep room is floor-area-constrained, common in retrofit installations, hospital outpatient morgues, and small ME field offices. All three bays still get individual-access with stainless steel slide-out trays.
Door hinge selection
All three doors hinge on the same side, either all right-hand (hinges on right, handles on left) or all left-hand (hinges on left, handles on right). Match to the prep-room workflow so the operator has unobstructed access from the staging side.

Ambient Room Temperature & Refrigeration Sizing, Read Before You Order
The temperature of the room around your vault matters as much as the vault itself. Every refrigeration system rejects heat into that room. The hotter the room, the longer the compressor runs, and the harder it is to hold a steady 34–40°F. Standard refrigeration is sized for a conditioned, ventilated indoor room. If your space runs warm, upsize the refrigeration when you order. It costs far less than a struggling system, temperature swings, or a warranty claim later.

Why ambient temperature is critical
- Holding temperature: an undersized system in a hot room cannot recover after each door opening, so box temperature drifts above 40°F.
- Compressor life: long, continuous run times in high heat wear out the compressor and fans early.
- Condensation & humidity: warm, humid rooms produce more condensate. Connect the drain line, and route it to the external drain or a condensate pump.
- Warranty: incorrect sizing, installation or placement voids the warranty. Choose the level that matches your hottest conditions, not your average.
How to choose
- Measure the room where the vault will sit at the hottest time of day in the hottest month, not when the HVAC is running at its best.
- Account for heat from nearby equipment, sun-facing walls, bay doors and how often the vault is opened.
- Keep the condensing unit's air path open, with no cabinetry, soffits or stored goods blocking intake or discharge. A starved condenser behaves like a hot room.
