Buy Mortuary Coolers

Buy mortuary coolers for funeral homes, hospitals and medical examiners: upright, roll-in, three-body, vault and walk-in morgue coolers, factory direct.

Buy Mortuary Coolers

Buying a mortuary cooler is a long-term decision. The unit you pick sets your capacity, how your staff move bodies, and what you pay to run it for the next fifteen years or more. This page covers what to compare before you buy, the formats available, and what to send us so the quote is right the first time.

Before you buy: five things to confirm

1. Capacity at your busiest week

Size for your peak week, not your average. Planning for one more body than you think you need is cheaper than adding a second cooler later.

2. How bodies arrive

Cot, carrier or tray? Roll-in coolers keep bodies at cot height. Upright coolers stack them on tiers and are best paired with a lift.

3. The delivery path

Measure every door, hallway and turn from the truck to the final spot. Standard uprights have to pass through a 36-inch door.

4. Power and placement

Know the voltage at the location, the clearance around the refrigeration unit, and whether the cooler will sit indoors, in a garage or outside.

5. Handling equipment

Racks, trays and a lift complete the system. Budget for them up front so the cooler arrives ready to use.

6. Payment and paperwork

Pay by card, Shop Pay or purchase order. A W-9 and written quote are available for institutional buyers.

Racks, trays and lifts for your cooler

Storage capacity is set by the rack and tray system inside the cooler, and safe handling depends on the lift that serves it. Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to buy a mortuary cooler?

Prices depend on capacity and format and are listed on each product page. A 2-body cooler costs far less than a walk-in room, and refrigeration upgrades are priced as options. Freight is calculated at checkout. Our mortuary cooler cost guide explains the ranges.

What is the difference between a mortuary cooler and a morgue cooler?

Nothing. "Morgue cooler" is more common in hospitals and medical examiner offices, and "mortuary cooler" in funeral service. Both refer to refrigerated storage for human remains.

Should I buy a roll-in or an upright cooler?

Choose roll-in if staff should never lift a body to an upper tier. Choose upright if floor space is limited and you will use a lift or have enough staff to transfer safely.

Can I buy a mortuary cooler with financing?

Financing is available through Shop Pay, including 0% offers with approved credit.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes. Coolers ship by freight across the continental United States. Liftgate and inside delivery options are shown at checkout or in the quote.
