Domestic Shipping & Delivery Terms | American Mortuary Coolers
As of January 1, 2026. All policies, pricing, and terms on this website are subject to change without prior written notice.
Scope
These Domestic Shipping & Delivery Terms apply to all equipment orders shipped by American Mortuary Equipment Company and American Mortuary Coolers ("AME," "AMC," "we") to destinations within the United States. They supplement our Terms and Conditions, our Terms of Purchase (TC-1.6), and our Freight Damage, Inspection & Refusal Policy.
Carriers and service levels
Mortuary coolers, lifts, tables, and other oversized equipment ship via LTL or dedicated freight carriers selected by AME. Small parts and accessories ship via ground parcel. Quoted transit times are estimates, not guarantees; carrier delays do not constitute grounds for order cancellation after the order has shipped.
No Guaranteed Delivery Date; Expedited Service Available
AMC does not guarantee an exact delivery date. All lead times and delivery windows are estimates provided to the best of our ability, based on current production scheduling, component availability, and carrier capacity at the time the estimate is given. Estimates are subject to change and are not a binding deadline unless expressly agreed to in a separate document signed by an authorized officer of AMC — see Lead Times & Expedited Service (LT-1.0). Expedited production and expedited shipping are available for an additional cost with prior written authorization from AMC — call 1-888-792-9315 before ordering to request and confirm expedited service and pricing.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AMC is not liable for lost business, lost calls, lost case volume, lost revenue, or any other indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from a delay in production, shipping, freight transit, or delivery, regardless of the cause of the delay, including where AMC's own production or scheduling is the cause. Customer's sole remedy for a delay is delivery of the ordered equipment or, at AMC's election, a refund of amounts paid for the undelivered portion of the order.
Delivery requirements
Unless otherwise stated on your order confirmation, freight shipments are curbside delivery with liftgate where available. The consignee is responsible for providing a delivery location accessible to a 53-foot tractor-trailer, equipment and labor for moving the unit beyond the curb, and an adult authorized to inspect and sign the delivery receipt. Storage, redelivery, limited-access, and missed-appointment fees assessed by the carrier are the customer's responsibility.
Inspection at delivery
Inspect all packaging and equipment before signing. Note any damage or shortage on the delivery receipt at the time of delivery and notify us within 48 hours per our Freight Damage, Inspection & Refusal Policy. Signing free and clear limits available remedies.
Title and risk of loss
Unless your purchase order or quote states otherwise, shipments are FOB origin: title and risk of loss pass to the buyer when the carrier accepts the shipment. AME will assist with carrier claims as a courtesy.

Panel material — Class 1 polyurethane foam
Walk-in cooler panels and upright cooler cabinet skins are constructed of Class 1 polyurethane foam insulation, injected under pressure into formed molds during manufacturing. Residual foam flash, minor surface variation, or trace foam residue on panel edges and surfaces is a normal characteristic of this manufacturing process — not a defect. Foam residue does not merit discounting, return, refund, or credit of any kind.
Inspect before you sign — 30-minute inspection window
You have up to 30 minutes from carrier arrival to thoroughly inspect every panel, crate, unit, and box before signing any delivery receipt or Bill of Lading. Check all surfaces, edges, corners, and refrigeration components while the driver is present. This is your only opportunity to document concerns with the carrier present. Acceptance at delivery is the single most critical step in the delivery process.
By signing the delivery receipt or Bill of Lading — or by accepting delivery in any form — you: (1) accept the shipment in the condition noted on the signed paperwork; (2) release the carrier and American Mortuary Coolers from all liability for any condition, damage, or deficiency that could have been identified during your inspection window; and (3) enter into a binding agreement that goods were received as stated on the signed documentation. Your signature on any shipping paperwork constitutes acceptance of these terms. There are no exceptions once paperwork is signed.
