Refrigerant Safety Symbols & Warnings — A2L Refrigeration Systems

DOCUMENT SY-1.0 • EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2026 • LAST REVIEWED JULY 4, 2026 • KEPT CURRENT WITH MANUFACTURER DOCUMENTATION

Why this page exists: 2025–2026 packaged refrigeration systems — including the Heatcraft PRO³ units used on self-contained mortuary coolers — use next-generation A2L refrigerants (such as R-454B), classified as lower-flammability refrigerants under the EPA AIM Act transition. Every unit carries standardized warning symbols. Know them, and make sure every operator in your facility knows them. Source: manufacturer installation & operation manuals — always follow the manual shipped with your specific unit (Manuals & Startup Guides).

MISE EN GARDE (Canada — traduction française requise)

Handling & Service Rules for A2L Units

1. Ensure the structural integrity of the cooler box can support the weight of the PRO³ unit — see the manufacturer tech bulletin for unit weights (manuals library). 2. Avoid contact with sharp edges and coil surfaces — they are an injury hazard; wear gloves during moving and handling. 3. Disconnect all power sources before any service work. 4. Service, recovery, and charging must be performed by EPA §608-certified technicians using A2L-rated equipment — see RF-1.0 and TP-1.0 stop-use conditions. 5. Never modify, pierce, braze on a charged circuit, or bypass safety controls — unauthorized modification voids warranty (WR-1.0) and creates fire risk.

Symbols shown are standardized GHS/ISO-style safety pictograms reproduced for operator education. Always follow the exact labels, manual, and warnings shipped with your specific unit; manufacturer documentation controls.
