Product details

AMC 3BX-SL-F: 3-body upright freezer for standard 32°F holding, with heated doors, heated jamb and pressure relief.

The AMC 3BX-SL-F is a 3-body side-loading upright mortuary freezer configured for a standard 32°F (0°C) holding application. The listed package includes the insulated box, the specified refrigeration package, 3 interior roller-shelf positions, a door heater system, heated jamb and pressure-relief valve. This listing does not claim subzero, rapid-freezing or deep-freeze performance.

Choose your configuration

The standard cabinet uses two side-loading doors. Select no casters or the caster package, and unassembled or factory-assembled box service. Base price is $18,394.68 before selected options, shipping and tax. Casters add $345; box assembly adds $455; selecting both adds $800. The selected variant price includes these options.

Factory assembly means box only

Factory assembly covers assembly of the freezer box and installation of casters when selected and applicable. Interior shelving installation and setting or installing the compressor/refrigeration unit are not included. This is not turnkey installation or commissioning. The door-heater and heated-jamb electrical connection is separate site work.

Heated door and pressure relief

The freezer package includes the door heater system, heated jamb and pressure-relief valve. Keep the door seal and pressure-relief path clean and unobstructed. Do not change heater wiring, defeat a protective device or modify the pressure-relief valve.

The heated jamb requires a hardwired 115V connection installed by a licensed electrician. This electrical work is not included in box assembly. The electrician must follow the supplied wiring diagram, nameplate, grounding and local electrical requirements. Do not assume that the refrigeration-unit plug supplies the jamb heater; confirm each electrical connection separately.

Shelving, loading and fit

The 3-position shelving layout follows the corresponding 3BX-SL side-loading cooler arrangement, with freezer-specific heated-door features. Interior shelving remains for installation on site. Secure and level all roller tiers before use, and confirm the actual rack, tray and handling-equipment ratings. Position count is not a guarantee that every case or tray fits.

Confirm the final freezer-specific drawing for cabinet dimensions, usable door opening, tier clearances and the complete installed envelope. Cabinet height, caster rise, refrigeration height and required service clearance are separate measurements. Do not use a cooler's refrigeration clearance or installed-height total as freezer approval.

Installation and startup

Inspect the shipment, place the cabinet on a level supporting surface and complete box assembly if ordered unassembled. Install and secure the interior tiers, set the refrigeration unit separately, and complete the specified power, airflow, condensate and control work. The licensed electrician must complete the heated-jamb connection before startup.

Commission the configured system for standard 32°F holding using the supplied refrigeration instructions. Verify empty-unit temperature performance and record independent thermometer readings for the period specified by those instructions before loading. Do not infer a colder operating range from the product's freezer name.

Care and service

Check holding temperature, door seal, heater condition and pressure-relief clearance regularly. Keep refrigeration airflow and service access clear; follow the supplied refrigeration, heater and cleaning instructions. Isolate all applicable supplies before electrical or heater service. Maintain model, serial, installation, startup and maintenance records.

Side-loading cabinet reference

The corresponding 3BX-SL cooler drawing dated April 15, 2025 shows a 95 in L × 40 in D × 70 in H cabinet, 87 in clear side opening and 7½ in caster rise. That cooler illustration has 94¼ in overall height with its illustrated refrigeration package. Those values identify the matching cooler layout; confirm the freezer-specific refrigeration package and final installed envelope on the freezer order drawing rather than treating the cooler drawing as freezer engineering approval.

DOE-compliant drop-in refrigeration options

For an order specified with the current low-GWP PT0032M standard package or PT0046M upgrade, the manufacturer publishes an indoor Annual Walk-In Energy Factor (AWEF) of 5.61 and certifies these refrigeration systems for walk-in cooler applications. The current PT0032M uses R-290; the current PT0046M uses R-455A. This is a model-specific refrigeration-system rating, not a blanket certification of the cabinet, shelving, electrical installation or every product revision. See the current refrigeration technical guide, AWEF table on page 5.

Confirm the complete model suffix, refrigerant, voltage, defrost configuration and current manufacturer certification against the supplied unit and order documents. Earlier PT0032M R-513A versions do not share this compliance rating; a family number alone does not identify the compliant version. See the earlier-revision AWEF table. These M-series package ratings are for cooler applications and do not establish subzero or deep-freeze capability. This listing remains a standard 32°F holding configuration; use the exact approved package and startup instructions. Follow the supplied nameplate and installation instructions for electrical connections, refrigerant safety, airflow and service clearance. A larger upgrade may require a different roof opening, support arrangement and installed-height allowance; confirm its fit before ordering.

Cabinet height and caster-added height

Caster rise must be included in the final installed freezer height. Matching refrigerator-family reference: Casters add 7½ in to the 70 in cabinet, giving 77½ in cabinet height with casters before refrigeration. The supplied April 15, 2025 drawing shows 94¼ in overall with its 16¾ in refrigeration package. The cabinet is 95 in W × 40 in D, with an 87 in clear side opening; the 4 in callout is panel thickness, not an extra plenum. These numbers identify the refrigerator configuration, not a verified freezer refrigeration envelope. Confirm the freezer-specific caster mounting, cabinet height and selected refrigeration height on the final freezer drawing before site-fit approval.

Refrigeration ships separately

The included compressor/refrigeration package ships loose on its own pallet, separate from the cabinet, to simplify customer-managed placement and installation. It does not arrive set on the cabinet as part of factory box assembly. Factory assembly, where selected and offered, covers the freezer box and applicable selected casters only. Interior shelving installation and compressor placement/setup are excluded. Arrange suitable unloading and lifting equipment, follow the exact refrigeration instructions, and use qualified personnel for required electrical or refrigerant work.

Compare the related refrigerator family

Compare the 3 Body Side-Load Upright Mortuary Refrigerator – Extra Wide when considering refrigerated holding instead of this freezer configuration. Check the exact temperature rating, cabinet width, loading arrangement, utilities and drawing for each model; a shared body count or room footprint does not make the equipment or its parts interchangeable.

Model-specific parts and service

Use the 3BX-SL-F parts and service entry and the replacement-parts planning guide to identify parts offered for this exact equipment. Provide model, serial number, year and component photographs before ordering. Cabinet doors, gaskets and shelving components must be matched separately from external rack and lift parts; no cross-model or other-brand fit is implied. Unlisted replacements require a confirmed match rather than a nearest-looking substitute.
