American Mortuary Equipment blue thumb loop isolation gowns are impervious polyethylene (LDPE) embalming gowns with a thin plastic thumb loop at each sleeve, an open back and long back ties. One universal size, packed 100 to a branded AME case, ordered in 100-gown steps from 100 to 1,000. Pricing starts at $97.02 per case, about 97 cents a gown. The same gown also comes in pink.

Why embalmers choose plastic thumb loop gowns
When you lean over the embalming table or lift during a removal, an ordinary sleeve rides up and leaves a gap between glove and gown. The thin polyethylene thumb loop anchors the sleeve at your hand. Hook your thumb through, pull your exam glove over the cuff, and the wrist stays covered for the whole case. For more forearm coverage, pair the gown with extended-cuff gloves such as the 10 mil extended-cuff nitrile glove.
Blue for the prep room, pink for color-coding
Blue is the standard prep-room color and hides less on the table, so contamination is easy to see. What are embalming gowns?
Embalming gowns are disposable gowns worn over scrubs in the prep room to keep blood and fluids off the embalmer. Ours are polyethylene thumb-loop isolation gowns, sold 100 per case.
What is a thumb-loop isolation gown?
It is a gown with a small loop at the end of each sleeve that goes over your thumb. The loop holds the sleeve in place under your glove, so your wrist stays covered while you reach.
What are the gowns made of?
Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) film. Liquid beads off the surface instead of soaking in, which is why plastic gowns are the standard throwaway gown in many prep rooms.
Do the gowns have knit cuffs?
No. The sleeve ends in a plain plastic cuff with a thin polyethylene thumb loop. There is no knit band to wick fluid toward your wrist.
Is the back open or closed?
It slips over the head and has an open back held by long ties, so it goes on and comes off in seconds.
