Buyer Code of Responsibility & Professional Facility Use Policy

DOCUMENT BC-1.0 • EFFECTIVE JULY 4, 2026 • Incorporated into the Terms of Purchase (TC-1.5)

American Mortuary Coolers publishes its commitments in the American Mortuary Promise™. This Code states the buyer’s side of the relationship. By placing an order, Customer agrees to each responsibility below.

§1 Professional & Commercial Use Only

AMC equipment is professional commercial equipment sold for use by qualified deathcare, medical, laboratory, forensic, veterinary, government, and institutional facilities and their trained personnel. Products are not sold for residential or consumer use. Refrigeration, lifts, and body-handling equipment require trained operators; Customer is responsible for operator training, facility licensure, and use consistent with the product manuals and applicable law. Misuse, unauthorized modification, or non-professional use voids warranty coverage per the Warranty Policy and shifts all resulting risk to Customer under the Product Liability & Release Policy.

§2 Buyer Responsibilities Before Ordering

Customer is responsible for: (a) accurate measurements — space, doorways, and delivery path per the Facility Readiness Checklist; (b) site readiness — level surface, dedicated power, ventilation, and code-compliant drainage; (c) freight access — disclosing forklift availability, docks, gates, stairs, and limited-access conditions at order time; (d) reviewing posted terms before purchase; and (e) providing accurate contact, billing, and delivery information. AMC provides free pre-order measurement review — responsibility for what is ordered remains with the buyer.

§3 Buyer Responsibilities at Delivery & After

Customer will: inspect every shipment and note damage on the BOL before signing (procedure); operate equipment per its manual and the posted operating conditions; perform routine maintenance (coils, gaskets, drains) per the maintenance schedule; and maintain independent temperature checks appropriate to the remains in Customer’s care — monitoring tools such as HALO assist but do not replace professional oversight (HL-1.0).

§4 Guidance Is Not Professional Advice

Sizing help, planning guides, calculators, checklists, and consultations are general equipment guidance based on information Customer provides. They are not engineering, architectural, legal, or regulatory advice, and they do not substitute for Customer’s own licensed professionals, inspectors, or counsel. Final decisions — and compliance with state board, health, building, and electrical requirements — remain Customer’s responsibility.

§5 Respectful, Documented Dealings

We commit to professional, documented communication and ask the same: order changes, cancellations, and claims in writing; accurate statements in disputes; and no abusive conduct toward staff. AMC may decline or discontinue service consistent with the Right to Refuse Policy. Governed by Tennessee law; venue Washington County, Tennessee, including its General Sessions Court.
