U.S. PATHOLOGY EQUIPMENT • 2026 MAINTENANCE GUIDE
Protect your investment. Preserve performance. — The Standard in Pathology Equipment. Content current as of May 1, 2026.
Proactive maintenance ensures the safety, reliability, and long service life of your covered autopsy/dissection table. Use this 2026 checklist — for anatomy labs, medical examiner facilities, universities, and forensic pathology departments — to reduce risk, ensure compliance, and protect the people who rely on your equipment. Ventilation ready: connects to facility ventilation via 6″ exhaust port; no electrical connection required.

1. Stainless steel work surface — inspect the top for dents, scratches, or deformation; welded seams and corners for cracks or pitting; verify drainage slope; inspect splash edges and sidewalls. 2. Hinged cover assembly — inspect piano hinges, tighten mounting hardware, verify smooth open/close, confirm the lid remains supported open, check latches and handles. 3. Gas shock / lid assist — inspect shocks for oil leakage, verify equal lift pressure both sides, check brackets and clips; never operate with failed lid-assist components — replace weak or leaking shocks. 4. Ventilation system — inspect the 6″ exhaust port and collar, verify secure connection to facility ventilation, check duct clamps and flexible duct, confirm airflow meets facility requirements, clean debris from ducting. 5. Drain assembly — inspect the drain opening for blockage, the PVC ball valve for smooth operation, hose and clamps; flush the drain after every use; check for leaks at fittings. 6. Perforated grates — remove and clean thoroughly, inspect perforations, support rails, and brackets; verify grates sit flat; replace damaged or corroded grates. 7. Casters — inspect polyurethane tread, swivel bearings, directional and total-lock brakes; tighten mounting bolts; verify the table rolls and locks properly. 8. Accessory sockets & components — inspect leg and book holder sockets, instrument tray and shelf brackets, bucket holder; ensure all accessories mount securely. 9. Cleaning & disinfection — clean and disinfect after every use; never allow tissue or chemicals to dry on stainless; flush drain and rinse all surfaces; dry completely; use approved stainless cleaners only; never use chlorine bleach directly on stainless; polish as needed. 10. Structural frame — inspect frame and crossmembers for cracks, welds and joints, tighten fasteners, confirm the table is stable and level, check for corrosion or chemical damage. 11. Controlled environment — indoor laboratory use only; never expose to weather or moisture; prevent standing water in the tank during storage; keep the exhaust system unobstructed; never store corrosive chemicals inside or under the table.
Remove the table from service if any of the following are present: broken weld or structural crack • failed hinge or lid that will not remain open • gas shock failure • drain leakage or blockage • exhaust system failure affecting safe operation • corrosion affecting structural integrity • broken grate or support rail • loose frame or instability • electrical fault (if equipped) • caster brake or wheel failure • any unsafe or unstable condition.
Do not return to service until repairs are completed and the table has passed a documented inspection by qualified personnel.
Structure (stainless steel): 5-year limited • Gas shocks: 1-year parts • Casters: 1-year parts • Drain components: 1-year parts • Accessories: 1-year parts.
ALL WARRANTIES ARE REPLACEMENT PARTS ONLY. LABOR IS NOT INCLUDED UNLESS SPECIFICALLY STATED IN WRITING.
A completed quarterly inspection record — dated, signed, with corrective actions noted — is a condition of warranty claims. Undocumented equipment may be denied coverage. Full terms: Warranty Policy (WR-1.0).
Best practices: inspect before each use • clean & disinfect after every use • verify exhaust airflow before procedures • inspect grates and drain quarterly • maintain inspection records • train staff on proper operation and care.
